How much calcium is required in our diet and what diseases occur due to Calcium deficiency
Calcium is included in one of the most essential food supplement. It is required in a minimum level in our daily food for the proper growth and development of healthy bones. It is a mineral essential for life.

A normal healthy human being requires a recommended calcium levels which are 1000 mg per day below the age of 50, and 1200 mg per day if your age exceed over 50 years. Besides, there are more requirements in the female who are pregnant and also among the children of growing age. You and your bones will benefit from eating plenty of calcium rich foods, limiting foods that deplete your body’s calcium stores, and getting your daily dose of magnesium, vitamin D and vitamin K nutrients help calcium to do its job efficiently.

The disease caused due to deficiency of calcium is called “osteoporosis”, in which the bones formed are very weak, bones deteriorate and there are increased chances of bone fracture. The calcium also affects the teeth formation and their stability.

So, having a good diet is not a guarantee that you are taking a healthy diet really, having all required nutrients and minerals.
