How to Manufacture Wood Cutting Boards on a Laser Engraving Machine

March 30, 2017 by admin

You no longer need to destroy the counter of your kitchen or hurt your fingers trying to cut bread or food. Wood cutting board offers you this safety as well as the privilege to always keep your kitchen clean. These boards even have special grooves to gather the liquids from foods or meat. Additionally, you can turn over the board and use it on either side and the surface is constructed so as not to damage your knives. Cut comfortably anything you want on it and turn cooking into a fun experience. The wood from which the board is made is genuine and of high quality. It’s so beautiful that you can serve the food to your friends on it. It is a practical and elegant tool that will bring beauty to your kitchen.

Laser Engraving Machine

There are many cutting boards available; however, the best cutting boards on the market are manufactured using laser engravings, such as NGrava. Just like a high-resolution printer, laser head machines work by using engraving dots. The laser head works up and down to manufacture personalized cutting boards in the provided designs.

What is the manufacturing process:

Spot Size

The spot size of the laser beam is adjusted through numerous focal distance lenses. A small spot lens is used to get high-resolution engraving and a larger spot to get lower-resolution, however, this is the best method for vector cutting.

Vector Cutting

The vector cutting method is a bit dissimilar from lattice engraving and engraves outside the material. This is a perfect method to cut acrylic, wood, paper or other materials. Using this technique, a smooth surface is made to give you a great wood cutting board made of variety of woods.

Intensity

Engraving Intensity refers to the intensity radiating on the surface of the material. Against the given speed, a bigger laser power can offer deeper engraving. The intensity can be adjusted using engraving panels or the operating software.

Speed

The engraving speed is the laser head’s moving speed, which is often called IPS; thus, a high speed carries a high productivity rate. The speed is used to regulate the depth of cutting for the given intensity of the laser; a slow speed offers deep engraving to get a fine quality wood carving.

Wood Cutting Boards

There are several suitable materials that can be engraved such as Plexiglas, glass, metal panels, stone, crystal, Corian, paper, aluminum, color plates, leather, spray metal and resin, however, wood is the best material for making a perfect personalized cutting board.

If you enjoy making home cooked meals for your family, you perhaps have to chop meats from time to time. Wood cutting boards offer a flawless surface for preparing all foods for the pot or pan. Purchasing a cutting board made of wood is a firm investment since they will last forever. Furthermore, bacteria will not be able to spread easily on the wooden surface since it is less absorbent. Wooden tools furthermore provide an artistically pleasing look inside a kitchen. The proper care of these kinds of personalized cutting boards is important if you want to have yours around for a while.
